SMS Messaging Policy

Program Name and Identification
AK & Friends LLC, doing business as Atte Sports Ortho Consults ("we," "us," "our"), operates an SMS text messaging program to communicate with patients about appointment scheduling, referral coordination, appointment reminders, follow-up care notifications, and other healthcare-related communications. Our practice locations are 7950 SW 30th St #201, Davie, FL 33328 and 5555 Hollywood Blvd #201, Hollywood, FL 33021.
Types of Messages
By opting in, you may receive the following types of text messages from our practice:
- Appointment scheduling confirmations and reminders
- Referral follow-up and coordination messages
- Requests to return our call or contact the office
- Care-related notifications (e.g., imaging or documentation requests)
- Responses to your inquiries sent via text
We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies depending on your care needs and referral status. For new patient referrals, you may receive up to 4 text messages per week over a 21-day period. You will not receive more than 8 total messages per referral unless you initiate additional communication.
Opt-In and Consent
By checking the SMS consent checkbox on our appointment request form at attesoc.com and submitting your phone number, you are providing your express written consent to receive automated text messages from AK & Friends LLC at the mobile number you provided. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. You may also provide verbal consent to receive text messages during a phone call or in-person visit to our office.
Opt-Out
You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message acknowledging your request. No further messages will be sent unless you re-enroll. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. We are not responsible for any charges your carrier may assess for sending or receiving text messages.
Supported Carriers
Our SMS program is supported on all major US wireless carriers, including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, and their respective MVNOs. Service availability may vary by carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy and Data Protection
We take your privacy seriously. The mobile phone number you provide and any information collected through our SMS program will be used solely for the purposes described in this policy. Your mobile opt-in data, phone number, and any personal information collected via text messaging will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. We may share limited information with service providers who assist us in delivering messages (e.g., our messaging platform), but only as necessary to operate this program and subject to appropriate safeguards.
All patient data transmitted through our messaging system is handled in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Through our SMS messaging program, we may collect your mobile phone number, first and last name, and any information you voluntarily provide in text message responses (such as preferred appointment times or insurance details). We retain your messaging consent records and message logs for as long as required by applicable law and our internal record-keeping policies. Message content is stored securely using encrypted databases with role-based access controls. You may request correction, review, or deletion of your personal information by contacting our office.
